MAX BEVAN

this is max bevan.

Born with fuel in his veins, Max Bevan is a self-funded Speedcar/Midget driver from the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia.

Racing has always been part of Max’s DNA. From a young age, he was relentless in his pursuit of getting behind the wheel — hardly surprising given his family history. His father, Paul Bevan, is a successful former Speedway driver, while his mother, Kristy, raced Supersprints in a Ford Escort MKII. Long before he was old enough to compete, Max spoke with certainty about his future in racing and could often be found in the lounge room at 3am watching Speedway while the rest of the house slept.

Max began his competitive journey at just seven years old in Speedway Go-Karts (SKAA), where he raced until 2017. During this time, he claimed the NSW Title in his age division in 2015 and followed it up with an Australian Title in 2016. Alongside his on-track success, Max was consistently recognised for kart presentation and sportsmanship — early signs of the professionalism he brings to racing.

In 2018, with the support of his family, Max stepped up into the Junior Formula 500 class — widely regarded as a breeding ground for Speedway talent. The transition came with a steep learning curve, including adapting to a new car, new setups, and unfamiliar tracks. Max passed his theory and practical assessments on his first attempt and spent the next four years developing his race craft and competing across New South Wales, with two seasons impacted by COVID-19 disruptions.

In the summer of 2021, Max expanded his campaign into Victoria, delivering strong and consistent performances across multiple Speedway tracks. He recorded regular podium finishes and placed fifth overall at Speedweek, hosted by the Victorian Formula 500 Club. He also finished inside the top ten for the Stampede Series and capped off the 2021–2022 season by finishing third overall at the Heytesbury Stockfeeds Simpson Speedway Awards.

Always focused on growth, Max made the move into Speedcars/Midgets in 2023 — a long-term goal and a natural progression that also saw him follow in his father’s footsteps. He made his Speedcar/Midget debut at just seventeen years of age, sooner than anyone expected, and has since competed extensively along the East Coast of Australia, racing in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia. In 2025, Max continued to diversify his skill set by also competing in Speedway Karts and Micros.

Max’s talent has not gone unnoticed. He is proudly supported by Penrite Oil and Bowden’s Own, alongside Pressure Products Australia, Porter & Hudson, Bad Ass Graphics, Liquid Clothing Co., and Unchained Supplements.

Under the mentorship of his father, Max has developed into a driver known for precision, clean racing, and composure under pressure. His quiet confidence, strong racecraft, and respect for competitors reflect a maturity well beyond his years. From handling tight corners to navigating tough racing and the occasional love tap, Max approaches every challenge with control and professionalism.

From his first laps at seven years old to consistent, competitive performances today, Max Bevan continues to build momentum. With determination at his core, a strong support network behind him, and a clear vision for the future, his journey is only just getting started.

Wherever Max Bevan chooses to take his racing career, one thing is certain — he has the drive, discipline, and determination to get there.
